It’s not the end of the world.

12 Songs: Swiss Army Mix Vol. 2

12 Songs: Swiss Army Mix Vol. 2

On today’s agenda, a menagerie of ballads, bruisers, and slow-burn anthems:

Drugdealer do their best Beatles impression, while guest vocalist and Merle Haggard soundalike Dougie Poole steers the band straight into a cow pasture.

The Third Bardo, a mystery garage group from the sixties, culled from the infamous Nuggets compilation.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Anton might’ve shut us down at Levitation, but that doesn’t mean we’re giving up on the BJM. Bonus points if you can name the surfer and section this song was used in.

The Soft Machine. Prog’s gift to jazz, rock, and metal fans everywhere - ambidextrous rock. A softer track from Kevin Ayers and co.

The Stranglers. The band that changed my mind about keyboards and punk; they totally work together, just not in the way you’d expect.

Slowdive. We included our favorite track for their magnum opus Souvlaki, which is also coincidentally the only track off the album to be produced by Brian Eno.

Grinderman. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ seriously-fucked up Bad Seeds side project. They treat this band like a punching bag.
