It’s not the end of the world.

After a massive day 2 at the Quiksilver Festival it looked as though the ocean might take it a little easier on everyone for day 3. As soon as the tide swung it started to build again and more massive tubes poured in across the sand banks up and down the beach at Les Culs Nus.

We knew it was coming at some point and who better to break the seal and score the first perfect ride of the event than Jeremy Flores for a throaty pit. About 5 minutes later, in the same heat, his good mate Marc Lacomare bagged himself a 10 point ride as well. He was deep on the backhand and got blown out and followedd up with a massive lip blast. Marzo was styling out on the backhand, Kael Walsh had a couple massive punt attempts, Coco Ho had some incredible barrels, it was another cracker of a day down at the Quiksilver Festival in Hossegor, France. The action hasn’t stopped! - Brandon Guilmette

Another perfect wave at Les Culs Nus runs across the sandbar empty. You can see the water line where the tide comes up to and how massive the tide swings are. It rises and falls so quickly that you have to be on it before you see one. If you are checking it and you see a perfect wave roll through, chances are you’re too late. No doubt that Miky Picon and the crew making the calls for the Quiksilver Festival have nailed it again.

With the waves on offer, we knew that it was a matter of time until someone got a 10-point ride. Fitting that Jeremy Flores was the one to break the ice and get the first perfect score. He took off under the lip on this one, nothing the Frenchman hasn’t done plenty of times before, and came flying out. Always with perfect style and poise.

COCO HO

Birds eye view of Coco Ho from her morning heat. This was her best ride of the event so far and best wave of that heat which featured Jeremy Flores and Marc Lacomare. Deep barrel and followed up with a couple massive hacks. Coco’s ride pushed the boys to go harder in the afternoon heat where they ended up scoring their perfect rides.

MARC LACOMARE

Any time there is an event on these beaches, Marc Lacomare is making a statement. He’s caused some of the biggest upsets in the Quik Pro France in years past and today scored another perfect 10 right behind his pal Jeremy Flores. Those two waves came in about 5 minutes apart from each other too. Marc got ultra deep on this one, came out with the spit and then attacked the lip with a huge backhand slam. This guy is a weapon.

CLAY MARZO

Clay was in form again this day. Surfing with his unique approach to backside barrel riding. No grab, knee tucked low, and sometimes a double arm drag layback thing he does. Nobody does it like him. He got his fare share the last couple of heats, but still frothing to watch what he’ll do next.
