It’s not the end of the world.

I needed this. We all needed this. Surfing needed this more than ever before and massive thanks to Quiksilver and Jeremy Flores who brought it to us all. Surfing is alive and well in France, and the Quiksilver Festival just proved it. The theme of the day for the fourth consecutive day of surfing was each team to ride a twin fin. Was cool to see some of the different lines the surfers were taking on some equipment that you don’t normally see them riding. The waves were still pumping and the perfect day for a twinnie.

The waves were on fire for the fourth day in a row at Les Culs Nus. I’m not sure who this is on the wave, but I’m sure they’ve got a huge smile on their face. Another perfect pit straight onto the back of the jet ski and zipped back into the lineup. Pinch me.

SAM PITER

I’ve known Sam since he was just a mini grommet. He’s always been a classic kid and a pretty good surfer. The past few months he’s been making a name for himself on the competitive scene and this past week he stood out amongst some of the world’s best. Once this left turned on this day on the twin fin Sam was on fire! He got so many waves and tore the bag out of all of them. Huge carves, big airs, lip blasts…he’s kind of becoming the full package.

MIKEY WRIGHT

Mikey Wright scored another incredible ride on the twin fin on the final day of the Quiksilver Festival. He got super deep on this one and rode it to perfection all across the entire bank. It may have been one of the deepest tubes of the week. I was surprised he made it, but then again, not surprised at all. Mikey is a freak.

MAUD LE CAR

Maud Le Car was die hard this event. After taking donuts in what was one of the heaviest wipeouts of the whole event, she dusted herself off and was shining on her twinnie on finals day. Maud is a steward for ocean conservation through her foundation, Save La Mermaid.

NOA DEANE

A standout all week long, Noa put on a show for all the French surf fans. I was most impressed by his versatility from when it was macking even to when it dropped down and he was still laying down huge carves. His new film, Munch, premiered here this week. If you have a chance to watch it live, be there.
