Best Sections of All-Time: CULT OF FREEDOM - THE CREED PART

We’ve had a malfunction on our website. If you’ve ever tried to search for some of your favorite articles, videos and posts you’ve previously seen on InherentBummer.com and got something along the lines of: “your search did not match any documents,” we apologize. We’re troubleshooting the issue and hope that it will be resolved in the next couple of weeks. Something to do with that lack of SEO effort we’ve put in, perhaps. It’s been painfully annoying to go back through everything and dial each post in; it feels like we pulled up to pumping surf somewhere and forgot to put our board in the car. A complete shocker. I struggled to maintain a positive attitude about it before I dove into the mess, telling myself for weeks and even months that I was going to jump on this grenade.

Well, the day finally came. And to my surprise, there were countless articles that I got to reread that kept me entertained for hours, like what our Inherent Bummer Quarantine looked like, an open letter from Travis entitled “Dear Surfing”, an interview with your favorite surfer’s favorite surfer - Taro Watanabe, and wild times surrounding an Opening Day at Wrigley Field.

It’s turned into a time of enjoyment where I can unplug from what’s happening in the immediate, tune out for a few, and feel like I’m doing something productive. In the midst of disaster I’ve found something amazing, and it’s much better than another doomscroll through the algorithm.

I came across a few articles featuring Creed McTaggart and recalled his Cult of Freedom part and had another watch. It’s the perfect fit for this week, considering the fact that I’ve probably read and heard that word “freedom” more times this past week than I can count - although maybe it has more to do with the sound of fireworks exploding everywhere around me all week. Creed’s part delivers that same level of awe and excitement. Another masterpiece from Joe G. and crew.  -Brandon
