Reel Talk: Brodi Sale

The Big Island’s given us some pretty darn good surfers. Shane Dorian. Ross Williams. CJ Kanuha. And their latest Brodi Sale — a cool customer you may not have heard of just yet, but he’s in this batch of Challenger Series surfers who are on the cusp of breaking out. They’re one or two CS results or a big North Shore season away from being a headlining act.

From what we’ve gathered, Brodi is an alpha. He leads the way on tour. He does the planning. The booking. The dishes. Gets things done. Takes initiative. And that’s a pretty good sign these days, because those are often the guys who end up making a name for themselves and sticking around. The lazy will inevitably fall out of favor. .

So remember this name. You heard it here first.
