12 Songs with Issam Auptel of 3 Pod Mix

You know it’s a good playlist when I’m scurrying to put it together on our Spotify channel before leaving to go surf so I can listen on the drive.

Issam Auptel and his crew out of Portugal that includes Yael Peña, Diogo Martins, and their filmer and creative Guilherme Martinare make up 3 Pod Mix / Keks Machine. They’re one of underground favorites here and they consistently use great music in great edits and put it to great surfing. Their recipe is simple, and their goals are pure: Make sick surf edits and run around the world surfing together.

We’ll have a lot more from Issam this week, but let’s set the mood with this hammer playlist of emo/screamo/darkess which you know we love. “Not the happiest playlist for sure,” he told me. Perfect. —Travis

Portraits of past - snicker snicker ( discovered this band recently even tho it’s pretty mainstream in the screamo world. I’m addicted to that song. Can’t believe they were just 19years old and creating musical masterpieces )  

All my wishes were thrown down a well and should be die there - systemic ( the song is too musically good and the lyrics are more relevant than ever with the current state of the world…) 

The cure - homesick ( i mean the Cure. Musically insane. So many good songs. Had to pick one. The saddest hehe ) 

Sonic youth - J.C ( one of my favorite band growing up. the story behind that song is pretty sad. Makes it even gnarlier. Hard to choose a song though there’s too many good ones ) 

Pavement - Texas never whispers ( Best band. Can’t believe I saw them live )

Kite flying society - art of conversation ( the best song to scream in the car with some beers ) 

Alex g - advice  ( can’t tell what is my favorite song from Alex g but this one feels different. Such a good musicians. it’s pretty insane. almost every song is a 10/10) 

Hum - I hate it too ( underrated band. Struggling to learn the guitar riff with my friend Diogo hahah  ) 

The spirit of Versailles - there goes rhymin’Simon ( love everything about that song ) 

Blink 182 - adams song ( there’s to many good songs but I think discovered the band with this one. Love blink. Just makes me wanna sing and go drinks some beers ) 

Dystopia - stress build character ( musically insane/ good lyrics ) 

My chemical romance - the ghost of you ( karaoke time !!!! )
