WATCH SNAPT 5 Now
Logan Dulien’s (final?) contribution to the surf film vault is over an hour’s worth of 90s nostalgia packaged up for Gen Z and it totally works. This is the kind of surf film that will offer new treats each time you watch, and I do hope it commands your YouTube app’s attention for a long time.
I have watched it once but it’s going to take a good year of burning through to see where it ranks in the hierarchy of VHS classics, but so far I like its chances.
What a ride and wow, Noa Deane surprises (big wave slab guy!), Clay Marzo is insane, Haz and Mason do exactly what you’d expect them to do (more insanity!) and a host of new faces who it’s nice to just see how they surf.
There is a pretty good tune for everyone, and it’s a very eclectic mix — but palatable for all, and psyching more most. Go tune in, and thanks Logan for putting this into the world. You may rest now. You deserve it.—Travis Ferré
