12 Songs: Warren Smith
Warren Smith has been the creative behind the scenes of some of my favorite projects of the past decade. He worked with Dane and Craig in the early days of Former and founded Welcome Rivers with Grady Archbold. When I need fashion, I call Warren.
A ripper in his own right, the Panama City Beach, Florida product is a bit of a cultural anomaly. He was dressing better than Nick Cave 15 years ago yet still loves Waffle House, Jimmy Buffet and sparkly pink sugar cocktails. A unique Florida man to be sure. We’ve always hit it off.
He went a little dark for a year or two and I just found out why: He’s been the Chief Creative Officer of a new wave pool in Panama City Beach, his hometown called Shell Point Beach and Surf Club.
We’ll be getting into the details and philosophy this week (this might be the wave pool of them all I can get behind) . Before all that, let’s set the mood. Warren has always been a go-to for tunes and he’s come through again with this new 12 Songs. Check it out and look for more from Warren and Shell Point dropping all week right here.—Travis Ferré
Warren Smith on his 12 Songs Playlist:
“Not much a theme to this, pretty messy, but felt like a good life journey. Have a little dance, maybe a little cry, maybe break something, maybe another dance, kiss your lover, definitely have a margarita, take it easy, and maybe even squeeze in a quick meditation, and then start it all over again!” —Warren Smith
